Perhaps the most
intriguing part of San Costanzo. During restoration
work we came upon the remains of a much older
building built on to the rock face. It was possibly
an earlier church and was almost certainly used
later as a hermit's dwelling. Part dates to around
the 9th century, another part could even date
back to late Roman times - San Costanzo's day.
We rebuilt it as close to the original as possible
and now it is a small and very special single
bedroom.
